Crop Profit Planner

The Crop Profit Planner is the core decision-support tool for Coral Island farming. It reads directly from the canonical 89-crop catalog and computes profit per day live — no number is stored in the tool itself.

Inputs:

• Season: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, or All Seasons
• Quality grade: Base (1.0x), Bronze (1.15x), Silver (1.3x), Gold (1.5x), Osmium (2.0x)
• Processing step: Raw sell, Mason Jar (jam/pickles), Keg (juice/wine/sake/beer), Honey House (honey), Aging Barrel (mead/aged wine)

Formula:

Profit per day = (sell price at chosen grade x harvests in window x quantity per harvest - seed cost) / days in growing window

For regrowing crops, the growing window is the full 28-day season. For single-harvest crops, the growing window is the growth time in days. The harvests-in-window value accounts for growth time plus regrowth cycles.

Worked examples:

• Strawberry (Spring, Base, Raw): (60 x 6 x 1 - 35) / 28 = 11.6g/day
• Strawberry (Spring, Osmium, Raw): (120 x 6 x 1 - 35) / 28 = 24.5g/day
• Fairy Rose (Fall, Base, Honey): ~500g honey / days = very high
• Cactus (Greenhouse, Osmium, Mead): 10,000g+ per bottle — profit ceiling

The planner sorts results by profit per day within the selected filters. Every row links to its source-labelled crop record for verification.

Quality grade impact:

Osmium quality doubles the sell price (2.0x multiplier). This means the ROI of quality fertilizer increases with crop value — applying fertilizer to a high-value crop like Fairy Rose or Cactus yields more absolute profit than applying it to a low-value crop like Turnip.

Processing step impact:

Processing can increase sell value by 2-10x depending on the chain. The Aging Barrel provides the highest multiplier but has the longest processing time. The Mason Jar provides the fastest turnaround with a moderate multiplier. Choose processing based on your infrastructure and time horizon.
