Year one is about building infrastructure, not maximising raw crop sales. The goal is to reach the processing chain (kegs, jars, honey houses) as fast as possible, because processed goods always outperform raw crops.

Spring (Year 1):

  • Open with Turnip (4-day growth, 15g seed) and Potato (6-day growth, 50g seed) for fast cash turnover.
  • If you reach Town Rank C by mid-spring, switch to Strawberry (4-day regrowth, high yield density). Strawberry is the consensus best spring crop — 4-day regrowth cycle, high output, and scales into jam and juice.
  • Cauliflower (12-day single harvest) has the highest single-sale value in spring and is recommended for the brewing route.
  • If funds are tight, stick with Turnip and Potato. The 4-day Turnip cycle lets you reinvest seeds every few days.

Summer (Year 1):

  • Pineapple is the recommended first-year summer crop. It requires only Town Rank D, can be processed into juice via keg, and has a simple, high-ROI chain: Pineapple → Keg → Juice. Many players plant their entire summer farm in Pineapple and process everything.
  • Lily is the advanced summer option. Lily honey is extremely profitable, but requires honey houses and cannot be jarred. Not recommended for year one unless you have excess capital.
  • Wheat → Keg → Beer is a low-effort, low-investment chain (15g seed, 300-400g sell price per beer) that works well as a side crop.
  • Melon (12-day single harvest) has high per-sale value and pairs well with keg processing.
  • Hot Pepper (3-day regrowth) is fast-cycling but low per-unit value — best used for sriracha in the Mason Jar.

Fall (Year 1):

  • Fairy Rose is the breakout crop of fall. Fairy Rose honey sells for ~500g at base quality and over 1,100g at high quality. At Town Rank C, it is the highest daily-profit crop in the game for most players. Build honey houses before fall arrives.
  • Grape → Keg → Wine is the classic fall brewing chain. Grapes regrow every 7 days, and wine has a long aging timeline but very high payoff.
  • Pumpkin (13-day single harvest) has the highest single-sale value in fall and pairs well with jar processing.
  • Rice → Keg → Sake is a viable side chain; sake is also needed for offerings and makes a good gift.

Winter (Year 1):

  • Snowdrop is the best winter crop. Limited crop selection makes Snowdrop + honey houses the most stable winter income source.
  • Use winter to process your fall harvest backlog through kegs and aging barrels.
  • Sapling crops (Apple, Cherry, Apricot) planted in previous seasons continue producing if mature.
  • Winter is the ideal time to focus on mining, diving, and ocean restoration.

Late-game transition:

  • Once you unlock the greenhouse and reach Town Rank B, Cactus becomes the profit ceiling. Cactus → Honey House → honey → Aging Barrel → osmium-grade mead can sell for 10,000g+ per bottle.
  • The full late-game chain: Cactus flower → Honey House (honey) → Aging Barrel (mead) → osmium quality. This requires extensive infrastructure but produces the highest gold-per-day in the game.
